Last month Dennis, Bradley and I were given the opportunity to visit the Polaris showroom in Forli, Italy. During the first day of our visit founder Silvano Billi treated us and a dozen of his employees to lunch at a local restaurant they dine at together everyday. (A lifestyle this girl could get used too...) Unable to understand the conversation it was obvious that their dynamic was one of comfort and mutual respect. Later my friend Andrea told me that Billi believes much of his success is attributed to maintaining close relationships with his team - a concept that seems to be working for them. It is no wonder that Polaris has been established for over 30 years and continues to reaffirm its reputation of producing high-quality innovative styles that appeal to the global market.
Full of wine and home-made pasta and ready for a nap we headed back to visit the showroom, survey the new collection and tour the factory. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the production of each piece is entirely hands-on from start to finish; everything from drawing the templates to securing the last few details. Trained craftsmen cut the leather by hand to ensure each hide is
flawless and every piece is used. Forms are hand-cut from foam and
cushions are sewn by a small team of seamstresses. Once all of the
components are created they are secured by hand in the last and final
stage. This aspect of our visit resonates most with me because I appreciate quality goods and enjoy selling products whose values I relate to and completely stand behind. For me, the entire Polaris collection embodies quality material, skilled craftsmanship, style and comfort all at a reasonable price. I would like to thank Polaris, this was an extremely generous gesture and we are all so grateful for the experience. Please visit www.polaris3b.it to view their Fall 2009 collection and feel free to call me or Bradley for more information!
Ciao,
Rosie
